6 reasons to start planning your trip to Vietnam

Summer is fast approaching, the 9-5 routine is wearing thin and your feet are beginning to itch. Whilst your friends and family may be off to the typical holiday destinations, why not set your sights a little further? Southeast Asia is becoming a hotbed of tourism and Vietnam is the jewel in its crown – it’s no wonder it’s recently experienced a 32.1% growth in tourism. Have a look at what it has to offer and you’ll already be dreaming of your perfect trip.

1) The food

You may have sampled Vietnamese food at a London restaurant, but it can never truly capture the blend of spices in an authentic Vietnamese dish. For the foodies out there, you’ll be delighted to hear there are heaps of restaurants offering delicious food at incredibly cheap prices. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, immerse yourself in the culture and try some sumptuous street food whilst chatting to a local.

2) It’s so cheap!

Food, drink, accommodation… few countries can offer better value for money than Vietnam. You could book yourself into a deluxe hotel, head out to a lavish restaurant and wash the food down with a few beers – all for less than £15. When the food and drink is so inexpensive, you can indulge without having to worry about counting the pennies. The flights may be a tad more pricey than your typical European city break, but with cheap living costs, you’ll make your money back in no time.

3) The Scenery

Whether you’re overawed by spectacular mountains, endless greenery or gorgeous beaches, Vietnam has it all. Embark on that early morning hike, bask in the views from the top of a mountain and snap a few incredible pics to become the envy of your friends on Instagram.

4) It’s so easy to get around

When a country has so much to offer, you almost feel obliged to explore as much as you can. Luckily, Vietnam is fully prepared for your travel needs; there are ample bus and train services to take you all across the country. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can do a bit of island hopping on one of the quick and easy ferry trips.

5) The people

Let’s be honest: whenever we visit a new place, it’s the people that make it so special. Vietnam is home to some of the friendliest, happiest and most welcoming people on the planet – you’ll wish you had time to meet all of them. Navigating your way around a new town can always be tricky, so feel free to ask a local for help and they’ll be happy to oblige.

6) You’ll come back with endless stories

We all love to share stories about our holidays when we return, but gossiping about the barman at the pool doesn’t compare to detailing about how you felt when you got into your first tuk-tuk. Vietnam has so much to offer than you won’t want to stop talking about it. But hey, don’t take our word for it – book your trip and go make a lifetime of memories.
