During my second day in the city of joy, I met with Srinjoy, an Indian guy I had met in Agra, and the first hours of the day he was showing me his daily basis and not the most touristic places to visit in Kolkata. –It wasn’t so bad spending the night on my own after all…-
Srinjoy showed me the Kolkata’s rowing club and introduced me to a few friends. I was also part of his friend birthday party where I tasted a few Indian typical foods and was able to testify how they celebrate their birthday. It was a friends reunion in the middle of the street. They bring a few benches and all the food. It was fun!
This same day I visited Victoria’s Memorial, the most touristic places to visit in Kolkata. I walked a lot this day while visiting other interesting attractions. After spending a few hours in this place just relaxing and sitting on the grass, while I walk on the street I see a weird thing happening. I saw a man that is dressed like a woman stopped in the sidewalk and while some other man was passing by, she was pulling his tits against this guy and then starting to argue with him just like if it was him approaching her. That was truly weird. Why the hell was she doing that? Then I heard by Indians that this is kind of a normal sight in the city. Still, I don’t understand the purpose…
These men dressed like women don’t go to jail cause the police doesn’t know where to put them. They don’t fit among the men and also among the women, so they are always free. They are on the streets making trouble, but no one does anything about it. –They also taught me that sometimes beggars can earn even more than regular workers.-
Just outside the complex of the Memorial I find a lot of carriages like I have never seen before. They amaze me, so I was there for a while just appreciating them. They are very shiny, very adorned and looking very luxurious. Those were really an outstanding way to move to the city, but I haven’t seen many clients for them.
Some strange policies take place in India.
