During my 3rd day in Inle Lake area, I met again with Sofia, a traveler I met in Bagan. That’s one of the good things about traveling alone. You get to know many people and eventually meet them again in another city or even country. We explored the area together and visited Red Mountain Estate and a cave.
We cycled the whole day, I love riding a bicycle so that’s halfway to spend a pleasant day. We decided to visit a Htet Eain Gu Cave And Monastery. That was really tuff to reach but I loved to visit it with Sofia. There is a good road to reach the cave but the problem is the hills. There are several hills to climb on the way, so be prepared to suffer haha. We were climbing under the sun in such a hot day and we needed to pull the bicycles on foot as it isn’t possible to ride those hills on the top of the bike. They are too steep which turns this path kind of hard. We were laughing a lot during the path as we were already too tired on the 1st climb and didn’t know what to expect from the rest of the path.
We were the only people visiting this cave. We had it all for us! It is the only cave I visited during this trip so I truly enjoyed it. It is filled with Buddha statues of different sizes and the tree growing on the top of our heads was really cool.
On the afternoon we visited Red Mountain Estate Vineyards & Winery which is around 30 min cycle ride and also has a steep hill that we can’t do on the bicycle. This day was hard!! At the winery, you can have a taste of several wines for around 3€ while enjoying the view and having some peanuts. We unexpectedly met some other hostel friends from Sofia and we just stayed there for more than 1h just enjoying the several wines and the view. It is a calm place to relax with body and soul. I heard it is a nice place to watch the sunset up there in the mountains but unfortunately, Sofia needed to leave and we left the place before sunset.
Again, Myanmar is showing me how peaceful exploring its cities can be.
