Wat Arun is one of the magnificent Bangkok temples and a must visit in the city. It is different from all the rest, with a huge detailed stupa and many other architecturally different temples around.
Entrance fee is 50 Baht ( 1,5€) and it’s open from 8.30am to 5.30pm. By the night, Wat Arun is totally lighted up and it’s wonderful to see it that way. As the temple is next to Chao Phraya river, you have a boat stop really close to it. As I stated before, the bost rides are really cheap, but not so easy to figure out, at least for me. Different boats have different stops and I haven’t figured out how to check this information, so I was counting on someone help to realize which boat can I ride. I wasn’t finding people that could speak English with me so it was kind of hard to figure out where to go to catch the correct boat.
Wat Arun is also known as the Temple of the Dawn and it’s one of the most charismatic Bangkok temples.
It has an imposing spire over 70 meters high, beautifully decorated with tiny pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain placed delicately into intricate patterns. You can climb the central prang. On the other side of the river, you can see the Grand Palace and Wat Pho.
Besides Wat Arun or Temple of the Dawn, there are many other beautiful temples to visit in Bangkok.
