I really liked to visit Mandalay and the fact that I learned to like riding a bicycle. I explored the city on the top of a bike and it was awesome. As I was there for 5 days I had time to explore a lot and visit a lot of different Mandalay Pagoda. Even that way I didn’t get tired of the golden temples.
I was visiting the Large Bronze figure when I decided to stop to eat some typical Burmese food in a restaurant that was looking nice with a really nice old lady inside. I take a risk. People have been telling me that street food isn’t a good option, but that wasn’t street food. It was a proper restaurant.
Bad decision!!! Next day I’m feeling really bad about my stomach as I got food poisoned. I ate several different typical Burmese things, vegetables, spicy things, somethings I had no idea what I was putting in my mouth but I decided to give it a try. It was the 1st and last time in Myanmar I took their typical food. For a while I hadn’t tried any other typical foods, only already in Bangkok, Thailand, I started eating street food again. Being sick from your stomach doesn’t allow you to do pretty much anything, and you are traveling to explore, so it’s one of the worst feelings you might have.
Anyway, I only felt the consequences on the next day, so on this day, I was still exploring the city on a bike. Here is a few more Mandalay Pagoda that I visited:
Shwenandaw Monastery and Golden Palace Monastery:
Kyauktawgyi Pagoda:
Ein Daw Yar Pagoda:
Mandalay has too many Pagodas… I visited a lot, but there is much more to see.
