It’s true that I have been in Bagan already and that riding a bicycle here the first time was one of my favorite experiences on the whole trip. Because the freedom and calmness you feel while having the sensation that you have the whole Bagan temples area for you as you don’t cross many other tourists.
This experience was such a great inspiration for this bike trip with Ympek. Due to it, I dreamed of coming back to cycle freely among this desert of Bagan temples, and I did it, with a much fancy bicycle. In fact, I think the words I’m listening more in Myanmar are compliments to Ympek bicycle: “nice bicycle”; beautiful bicycle” and other synonyms are things I’m already used to hear, and people get more impressed when I show them how it folds. I always give the admires the chance to ride it and they accept it with pleasure.
Bagan archeological zone is a huge area, so incredibly, I’m discovering new spots where I haven’t been before. Temples and more temples that I’m never tired of seeing and I always stop to appreciate them closer. I can’t get tired of this view. Also, every sunset and sunrise is different, so Bagan will never look the same each time I visit it.
I have been to watch the sunset and sunrise in different temples that I have visited the last time. In fact, the 1st time I was here, I haven’t seen any sunrise from a temple, because I thought I already got the best of it with the balloon ride. Silly, I know, but it was one more reason why I should come back to Bagan.
This time, while appreciating the sunset from a temple, I had a great surprise. I re-encountered Cherry, from Ostello Bello Mandalay staff and from whom I didn’t say goodbye. It was such a big coincidence to find her in the same spot as me as the area is so big. And as people are one of the most important parts of your trip, I’m very happy to see her again! People matter a lot on a trip like this!
This is the view from this temple not so crowded for sunset:
