In this trip I have been to 5 countries: India, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam and my favorite was Myanmar. I knew less about Myanmar and this is the country I’m most curious about. I had a fascination for it by the fact that is still an unknown destination for most people.
I like the fact that I feel kind of special for being in Myanmar because I know it still not a very touristic place. Most part of the time I was the only Western person I saw and I love that feeling. Travelers usually don’t like overcrowded places as you miss the real feeling of the country, and that doesn’ happen here in Myanmar. You get to interact with locals as genuine are they are, the people with the biggest smiles on their faces despite the fact that they don’t have much. Myanmar it’s a lesson that teaches you that you don’t need all the material things you think you need to be happy.
One of the things I most remember about Myanmar is the inability to take the smile off my face. Everything around you seems so calm and gentle that you are always wearing a smile. In Myanmar, I experienced the closet feeling of freedom while walking on those roads without being approached by people trying to sell you stuff. After visiting India I was expecting this approach a lot more but I’m happy I didn’t happen.
I always say I have no words to explain how Myanmar is so special. You need to visit to experience the true feeling this country provides. Myanmar is kind of a challenge as they aren’t developed touristically so a lot of time you need to struggle to find information and you need to figure out on your own how to solve things. It’s a personal challenge.
I have a lot of stories to tell from this country and they are all happy ones. I loved a lot of different places in Myanmar, but I guess Bagan was my favorite. This was the place I expected to be the highlight of my trip. It’s magical it’s unique and I’m sure there is no other place like this on Earth. The feeling of riding a bike among all those temples is of freedom and inner peace.
What I loved the most about Myanmar were the feelings of happiness, freedom and the kindness of Burmese people. I advise everyone to visit this magnificent country.
